Privacy
elliot.wales is a static site. It sets no cookies and has no accounts. A few services see some data:
Hosting (GitHub Pages)
The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub receives your IP address when you load a page and may log it for security and operations. See GitHub’s privacy statement.
Visit counts (GoatCounter)
When you load a page, GoatCounter records the page, the referring site, your browser and operating system, your screen size and your country. It doesn’t set cookies or store your IP address, and it can’t identify you.
Email (Buttondown)
If you subscribe, your email address goes to Buttondown, which sends the emails for me.
- You get a confirmation email first. Nothing else is sent until you confirm.
- I use your address for what you signed up for: new posts, the occasional newsletter, or both.
- Every email has an unsubscribe link, which removes your address. You can also reply to any email and ask me to delete it.
- I don’t share or sell the list.
Embedded videos (YouTube)
Some posts embed YouTube videos from youtube-nocookie.com. In this privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube says it doesn’t store information about you until you play a video. Once you do, Google’s privacy policy applies.
